As in this chapter mutatis mutandis ("with the required changes" or "all essential changes have been made." Mutatis mutandis means that while some adjustments may be required to adapt to various circumstances, the core idea will not alter. Contracts employ the word mutatis mutandis to incorporate clauses from one agreement into another, separate agreement. For instance, the phrase "mutatis mutandis" may be used in a lease renewal that retains the same provisions as the original contract with the exception of new tenants) for all the inspections, inquiries or investigations in relation to foreign companies.
