Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is a government portal containing details of all the companies incorporated in India. It has details of all the types of companies and Limited Liability Company.


One can check the Company registration number, type of company, date of incorporation, charges of a company, directors of the company, etc. from the site. The balance sheets and other documents of a company along with annual returns are also available on the website on payment of appropriate fees.

Step 1: Go to the MCA website







Step 2: MCA website > MCA Services > Master Data > Company/LLP Master Data



Type the starting letters of Company Name in - Company / LLP Name (Enter atleast 3 characters for [Company/LLP Name) and Click Search button. List of Company Names stating with the submitted letters will be displayed. Click on desired Company Name link or Copy the CIN.






Step 3: Enter the captcha code. Click on ‘Submit’.

You can also search for CIN by clicking on the search icon beside the ‘Company/LLP Name’ field.



The result page will show the following details inter-alia:

  • CIN

  • Name of Company

  • Company category

  • Class of company

  • Date of Incorporation

  • Authorized and paid-up capital

  • Number of members

  • Date of incorporation

  • Registered address and e-mail

  • Assets under charge

  • Details of all the directors of the company


The Authorized capital of the company – It is very important to understand the meaning of the authorized capital. It is the amount raised by a company in its entire life. It represents the maximum amount which can be raised through the sale of its shares. This information about the company can be obtained using the data of MCA.


Paid up capital of the company – The capital that company issues or in other words, the money received by the company. This information about the paid-up capital of a company can be obtained using the data of MCA.


Date of incorporation – The date on which the company has been incorporated. Incorporation legally declares a company as a separate legal entity.


Directors of the Company – The complete name of the partners as well as the directors are given online on the website of MCA and can be retrieved.
