Before you hit download

The practical questions Indian founders ask before designing, printing, and protecting their first logo — answered the way we’d explain it over a call.

01I haven’t registered my company yet — can I still design a logo?

Yes, and many founders do exactly this. Designing your logo before incorporation means the same mark goes on your MOA cover, ROC filings, GST application, current account paperwork, and pitch deck — your brand identity is ready the moment your CIN comes through.

02Which file should I use on my website vs. on printed business cards?

Use the transparent PNG for your website, app icons, and social profiles — it loads fast and renders crisp on screens. Use the SVG or PDF for anything printed: business cards, brochures, packaging, tradeshow banners, merchandise. Vector files stay razor-sharp from a 32×32 favicon to a 6-foot standee, all from one download.

03Will the logo print well on my GST invoice, letterhead, and ROC documents?

Yes. The downloaded PNG is high-resolution enough for invoices, letterheads, MOA covers, NOCs, and stationery printed up to A3 size. For anything larger — outdoor signage, flex banners, vehicle wraps — use the SVG so the artwork stays crisp at every scale.

04My business name is in Hindi, Tamil, or another Indic script — will it render?

English brand names work out of the box. For Indic scripts, type the characters directly into the brand input — most templates render Unicode cleanly, though some highly stylized fonts may fall back to a system font. Try two or three templates, download the SVG, and you can fine-tune the typography in Figma or Inkscape afterwards.

05I want to tweak the design six months from now — can I come back?

Absolutely. Bookmark the page, type the same business name, pick the same template, and your design rebuilds with your edits. For deeper changes — moving anchor points, adding new shapes, custom artwork — open the downloaded SVG in any free vector editor (Figma, Inkscape) or hand it to a designer. SVGs are the universal exchange format.

06A competitor could copy my logo. How do I actually protect it?

The artwork is yours to use the moment you download it, but only a trademark registration legally stops copycats. Without it, another business in your category can register a similar mark and force you to rebrand — losing years of brand equity. A trademark filing starts from a few thousand rupees and protects your name and logo across India for 10 years, renewable indefinitely.

Pair your logo with the other free tools founders use to launch — naming, trademark search, and lawyer-grade contracts.
